ProAdvisor Site Now Helps Recommend Right Bundles of Products for Clients
Recommended Client Solutions. Now when you’ve logged in as a ProAdvisor, you'll have access to recommended solutions or bundles of QuickBooks products.
When you browse product pages (such as the page for QuickBooks Premier) you'll now see these recommendations, identified in the right-hand side. See an example of one of these boxes to the left here.
When ProAdvisors click on the Learn More button, they'll find more information and action steps in a popup Window, as shown below.
This Is Part One of a Two-Part Site Improvement. In Part One, some recommendations will be in the form of proposed solutions or bundles and will provide a phone number for ordering purposes. Others (as shown below) include a Continue link to continue the online ordering process.
Part Two Coming. We are planning further Web enhancements for later this year that will allow online ordering of of even more bundles at ProAdvisor discounts.
These site improvements are designed to help you get you choose the right products for your clients while recognizing your role as a QuickBooks ProAdvisor.

Applications for the Council Are Open. Intuit wants to hear from you if you are interested in joining a select group of accounting and tax practitioners: the 2008-2009 Accountant and Advisor Customer Council. Members meet twice a year at an Intuit location and join in several teleconference calls throughout their term, to provide Intuit's product managers, marketers and top executives with action-oriented feedback.

Updates on Advanced Certification Requirements
As announced last week, in response to ProAdvisor feedback, look for changes in the exam for the Advanced Certified QuickBooks ProAdvisor designation to go live early next month.

To help you save time in reaching our ProAdvisor Technical Support agents, Intuit reminds you that access to technical support is authorized for QuickBooks ProAdvisors, - but not colleagues in their firm.
Service Discontinues for QuickBooks 2005, etc.
Alert Your Clients. Effective May 31, 2008, in accordance with our QuickBooks Service Discontinuation Plan, Intuit will discontinue live support* and add-on service(s) available for some software products, specifically
- QuickBooks 2005 (all Windows desktop versions).
- QuickBooks Point of Sale 4.0.
- QuickBooks Enterprise Solutions Version 5.0.

We take this action to allow us to focus our resources on enhancing our products and providing support for more current versions, which are used by the vast majority of our customers. We believe the result is a better customer experience for hundreds of thousands of QuickBooks users.
* Live support includes any telephone support, data recovery and password removal services, and electronic support provided by a technical support representative.

Help QuickBooks Clients with New Financing Option
If you have clients struggling with cash flow, you should know that Intuit has quietly introduced a lease-financing option for many products. This option will be especially welcome in the retail industry, where setting up QuickBooks Point of Sale can involve both software and hardware costs.
Lease-financing offers immediate access to QuickBooks products, including Point of Sale software and hardware solutions, with predictable low monthly payments.
Benefits from Client View
- Leasing helps small businesses preserve valuable and scarce working capital.
- Lease financing allows your clients to finance the entire cost of their technology acquisition, including (for QuickBooks Point of Sale) hardware equipment and software.
- Eight out of ten U.S. businesses use lease financing to acquire the capital equipment required for growth, according to industry estimates.

Process. Clients who pursue a leasing option would be leasing directly from Marlin Leasing Corp., but you (or your clients) will start the ordering process by calling Intuit. The Intuit service agent then alerts Marlin Leasing and Marlin will contact the client to confirm terms. Marlin alerts Intuit and then the Intuit service agent contacts the client to complete the transaction.
Key Points
- The leasing program is through a third party. Unlike when you make a direct purchase from Intuit, in this case we are not able to provide a ProAdvisor discount to you, or for you to extend to your clients, when you lease from the third party.
- The minimum lease amount is $1,000.
- Currently lease terms are available for 12, 18, or 24 months.
- You can add items to an existing lease at a later date.
- The hardware manufacturer’s warranty period runs independent of the length of the lease.
