Laura Madeira is an Advanced Certified QuickBooks ProAdvisor® with over 20 years of industry experience. Learn more about Laura at her website here. Laura's book understands the collaborative model of QuickBooks, where both the business owner and the practitioner collaborate on bookkeeping, and so addresses her book to business owners and accounting professionals.

What's in the Book for Me or My Clients?

Laura tells us that she wrote the book "identifying each major area in QuickBooks (Chart of Accounts, Banking, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, etc.)" and setting out the following:

  • What the proper workflow is.
  • What preferences or defaults will help or are necessary.
  • How to best review your data (what reports and what you are to look for).
  • How to fix errors you may find (different types of fixes and what precautions to take).
  • How to handle unique transactions for that area.

"The end of every chapter has a checklist with multi-chapter cross references as needed," she writes. "This way a user could, if the index didn't help, see a more detailed check-list and find the appropriate page."
